Legendary F1 commentator Martin Brundle has revealed seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher refused to talk to him for 5 years.
Since retiring from F1 as a driver within the late Nineteen Nineties, Brundle has been ever-present within the commentary field.
Brundle is famend for his grid walks and barely awkward celeb interactions forward of races.
Talking on the Sky F1 podcast, Brundle mirrored on his illustrious profession off the monitor in broadcasting.
Throughout this, he spoke about his relationship with Schumacher.
Brundle was Schumacher’s teammate at Benetton in 1992 earlier than being changed for the next season.
The Brit then commentated over Schumacher’s varied title triumphs with Ferrari – after which comeback with Mercedes in 2010.
Brundle was requested about his encounters with Schumacher and admitted they didn’t communicate for 5 years.
Explaining why, Brundle mentioned: “Effectively, weirdly, we fell out as a result of one thing I mentioned was translated, taken out of context and translated into German and put in a headline and newspaper.
“And Michael obtained very upset, I do not know what it was to this present day. He wouldn’t communicate to me for 5 years, it was actually odd.
“After which we obtained drunk collectively in a nightclub in Valencia when he was on his sabbatical between Mercedes and Ferrari.
“We have been positive after that, he was type of hanging off my shoulder, like, ‘My teammate, my teammate!’
“And it broke the ice once more. So I actually don’t know what the issue was, however that was an actual disgrace.”
