Liverpool legends and teammates pay emotional tribute after tragic Jota news

Liverpool figures previous and current have paid tribute following the tragic dying of Diogo Jota on the age of simply 28.

The Portugal worldwide’s passing, alongside his brother Andre, has rocked the soccer world, with tributes now flooding in from throughout the sport.

Amongst these to talk publicly are present Liverpool ahead Darwin Nunez, in addition to former membership icons Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher.

The Uruguay worldwide, who wore the No.9 shirt at Anfield final season, posted a message in Spanish on Instagram.

Translated, the 25-year-old wrote: “There are not any phrases of consolation for a lot ache. I’ll at all times keep in mind you together with your smile, as a very good teammate on and off the pitch.

“I ship all my energy to his household. Wherever he’s, I’m positive he’ll at all times be with you – particularly his spouse and three kids.”

Carragher posted through BBC Information: “Devastating information about Diogo Jota & his brother Andre this morning.

“Ideas are with everybody of their household & buddies, particularly his spouse Rute & their three pretty youngsters.”

Gerrard added merely: “RIP Diogo. Condolences to his household and buddies throughout this extremely unhappy time.”

The duo joined Cristiano Ronaldo and so many others from the broader soccer group to share their tributes after this horrific occasion.

Jota made 182 appearances for the Reds after signing from Wolves in 2020, scoring 65 targets and offering 22 assists in all competitions.

His tenacity, urgent and objective menace had been very important qualities underneath Jurgen Klopp and Arne Slot, profitable three trophies throughout his time at Anfield.
