The stewards dominated Max Verstappen’s contact with Charles Leclerc on the start-finish straight on the F1 Spanish Grand Prix as a racing incident.

After the Security Automotive, Verstappen and Leclerc touched on the principle straight right down to Flip 1.

Struggling on his arduous tyres, Verstappen misplaced management of his RB21 on the exit of the ultimate nook, leaving him susceptible to Leclerc behind.

Because the pair went side-by-side down the start-finish straight, they veered into one another barely, touching momentarily.

Leclerc in the end bought forward and moved into third, whereas Verstappen needed to concentrate on George Russell behind.

After investigating the incident after the race, the stewards took no additional motion.

Why did the F1 stewards take no motion?

In an announcement, the FIA defined: “Automotive 1 misplaced traction whereas navigating Flip 14 and subsequently needed to defend his place on observe towards Automotive 16. Automotive 16 proceeded to maneuver to overhaul Automotive 1 on the start-finish straight. Each automobiles have been transferring barely in the direction of one another in the midst of the observe and a minor collision occurred consequently.

The decision means Leclerc retains third, his third podium of the yr.

Alternatively, Verstappen completed tenth after receiving a 10-second time penalty for an incident with Russell.

The Dutchman collided with Russell after initially attempting to offer the place again.

Verstappen was pissed off that Purple Bull ordered him to maneuver after Russell pushed him broad at Flip 1.

As he let Russell by, the pair collided at Flip 5.

Verstappen appeared to have carried out it intentionally, therefore the hefty penalty.
