“It was my first crash of the 12 months, and the primary one in a very long time.”
However the mayhem was simply starting for the previous world champion.
Initially struggling to restart his M1, Quartararo obtained help from Pramac’s Jack Miller earlier than bumping his machine again into life.
Nevertheless, he then confronted a dilemma.
Crew director Massimo Meregalli defined: “In accordance with the laws, if Fabio had entered pit lane [for repairs], he would have needed to begin from pit lane with a distinct tyre specification and would have been handed a ride-through penalty.

Quartararo had moist tyres fitted when the beginning delay was known as, after nearly half of the grid adopted Marc Marquez in sprinting again to the pits for his or her dry bikes.
Yamaha then used the delay to attempt to frantically change Quartararo’s undamaged spare bike over to a dry setting.
“The primary bike was broken, so we needed to begin the race with the second bike, which hadn’t been utilized by Fabio all weekend,” Meregalli continued.
“We did not have the time to alter this bike from moist to dry.
“Principally, Fabio raced with a hybrid bike: a mixture of moist and dry. With the bike like that, we did not know very nicely what was going to occur.
“On prime of this. it appears that evidently he obtained some uncommon notification on his YZR-M1’s dashboard, which led to him using the race in low-power mode, and we have to perceive why this alert occurred.”
All of which meant that Quartararo, who impressed with a season-best sixth place within the Dash, crossed the road in tenth place.
“I used to be on rain tyres throughout the first beginning grid process, and it was a multitude. Then we had the delayed begin,” Quartararo mentioned.
“My first bike was broken anyway, so I had to make use of my second bike, which had a distinct chassis and swingarm…
“We had a problem with the electronics sadly, with an alert about gas from lap 4.
“Ultimately it was a mistake, however I needed to change lots of maps, after which the efficiency was not there.
“However, total, we had an incredible weekend, particularly the Dash, and hopefully we’ll have higher luck on the subsequent one.”
