UFC President Dana White is getting nearer to securing the Jon Jones vs. Tom Aspinall combat it seems.

“The combat goes to occur. It’s only a matter of when now, getting it signed and executed. The combat will occur,” White stated in an interview with TNT Sports activities on Friday night.

Jones vs. Aspinall is the most important combat the UFC could make for the UFC undisputed heavyweight title.

“It’s going to occur. It’s executed nevertheless it’s not executed. Not executed sufficient to take a seat proper right here now and announce it and provide you with a date. However the combat goes to occur,” White added. “It’s only a matter of getting it signed now.”

Aspinall hasn’t fought since defeating Curtis Blaydes at UFC 304 to defend his UFC interim heavyweight title final July. Jones hasn’t fought since knocking out Stipe Miocic at UFC 309 this previous November to defend the UFC heavyweight title.

“Me and my crew consider that that is in all probability the most important heavyweight combat we’ve executed. Once we pull this off, and really make the combat and announce it and begin main as much as it, this would be the largest heavyweight combat in UFC historical past,” White continued.

Aspinall is rising uninterested in ready for Jones to signal on the dotted line, telling Jones to combat him or retire lately.

“There’s no the place to go for Jon,” Aspinall stated. “He both has to combat me or retire now. And if he does retire, everybody is aware of that he can have been avoiding me. So there actually isn’t one other combat for Jon for the time being. So it really works out fairly good.”
