The PBM Ducati crew has confirmed that Glenn Irwin is about to have surgical procedure on his sacrum after crashing in follow on the Snetterton BSB.

Irwin high-sided exiting flip 9 throughout the closing BSB free follow session on Saturday morning at Snetterton, and was taken to hospital following an preliminary medical verify on the circuit medical centre.

At hospital in Norwich, Irwin was discovered to have fractured his sacrum: a triangular bone on the base of the backbone which sits between the 2 hip bones within the pelvis.

In a video posted to social media on Saturday night, the Northern Irish rider confirmed that he’d “smashed” his sacrum, however indicated at the moment that surgical procedure might’ve been prevented.

The assertion provides that the crew is trying to find a “appropriate” alternative for Irwin.
